A Building Permit is a document issued by the Department of Building Official that serves as your official consent to commence any construction, demolition, addition, or renovation of your property.
The Department of Building Official will analyze your submitted plans to approve and guarantee that your application complies with the Philippines' National Building Code (PD 1096), Fire Code of the Philippines (RA 9514), and your Local Building Code.
Acquiring a building permit ensures that the homeowner, developer, architects, and engineers follow the codes, standards, and minimum requirements. Proper architectural, mechanical, structural, electrical, and sanitary plans should also abide by the regulations.
Without a building permit, the Building Official may order the work stopped and prescribe the terms and conditions when the work will be allowed to resume. You will need to apply for the mandatory building permit.
